CONCEPT
The New York Design Movement first emerged in the 1940s. Also called Abstract Expressionism-Impressionism, the movement has a context of anarchy and rebellion. Saul Bass in particular, sent the movement over to Los Angeles, California in 1950. While his design feature a single image, they lack realistic values like shading color, and shape. Chloe Moriondo is a singer and Songwriter who likes to write about her feelings and share on the internet. She has built a large audience of loyal followers, mainly being a safe space for queer youth to feel safe. The New York School Movement suits Chloe Moriondo as an artist due to the fact that although she sings about wanting to get away and daydreaming, she also sings about being in love and being in a poor state mental health-wise. The spontaneity and openness of her music match perfectly with the movement and speak strongly of our culture.
